ORIGINAL POST

The Stark County Political Report has learned that North Canton City Council (Council) will soon name a replacement for former Council President Daryl Revoldt.

Revoldt resigned on March 28th to take a position in the Ohio Department of Development as a Kasich administration appointee.  The Report had reported in November, 2010 that Revoldt was state bound and that his surfacing in Columbus was just a matter of time.

As for his replacement, the SCPR has been told that Council has narrowed the list of 13 applicants to two.  The two are former Councilman James Repace (long time head of the IBEW at the Hoover Company and a former councilman) and Mark Cerreta, a medical company employee.

The speculation is that Cerreta is the likely choice because he is thought to be supported by Republican Councilwoman Marcia Kiesling.  The connection?  According to a source, his resume indicates he is involved in some the same civic projects (youth baseball) that Kiesling is. Kiesling seems to be a particularly persuasive member of Council.
