It appears to the SCPR that Sheriff George T. Maier's days as Stark County Democratic Party appointee may well be numbered.
On February 14th (pleading LINK), Maier's legal counsel filed a Motion to Dismiss former Stark County Sheriff Tim Swanson Quo Warranto action (filed on February 12th - pleading LINK).
In the opinion of the SCPR, the dismissed Maier motion contained his strongest argument that he should be permitted to remain as sheriff of Stark County as the Dems appointee, to wit: the standing argument).
Now it appears to the SCPR that the Ohio Supreme Court is going to make a determination on evidence on the issue of whether or not Maier is properly qualified under the strictures of Ohio Revised Code Section 311.01 as to mandatory qualifications that a sheriff must have in order to serve as sheriff.
As readers of the SCPR know, yours truly believes that Maier does not meet the required qualifications and that the Supreme Court is very likely to so find.
If The Report's take is on target, then it appears that Maier's days as sheriff are numbered.
