IN THE OFFING. SCPR ANALYSIS OF STARK/OHIO DEMS' BRIEF PROTESTING TOM BERNABEI'S "INDEPENDENT" CANDIDACY - VOLUME 1

UPDATE:  12:45 PM

For the many attorney readers of The Stark County Political Report.

If you are interested in sharing your comments on the briefs filed in the contests on the Stark County Board of Elections certification of the Bernabei, Cicchinelli and Graber "independent" candidacies with The Report, e-mail your comments to this address:  tramols@att.net.

If you want your comments to be "off-the-record" as to identity, please include the phrase "off-the-record" in your responsive e-mail.

As a starter and as a thumbnail sketch of The Stark County Political Report's analysis of Lee Plakas' brief in support of the protesting (prematurely, it seems) of Stark County Commissioner Tom Bernabei's candidacy as "a political independent," yours truly rates the legal treatise as being high legal scholarship but an example of "legal overkill" that may end up being counterproductive.

From now through June 16th (the day before the Stark County Board of Elections candidate certification meeting of November general election candidates [which does not, of course, include non-partisan offices]), the SCPR will be examining all the legal briefs offered not only on the Bernabei candidacy but also on the Cicchinelli and Graber candidacies in the Massillon mayor's race.
