DISCUSSION: RESIDENTIAL ELECTRIC RATES COMING TO STARK COUNTY - COURTESY OF COMMISSIONER CANDIDATE JOHN HAGAN?

Readers will recall how often and how loud the STARK COUNTY POLITICAL REPORT (The Report) has lampooned county commissioner candidate John Hagan (currently state rep. - 50th) for not protecting Ohioans/Stark Countians on the treat of rising residential electricity costs.

Only Governor Ted Strickland stood between Hagan and his patron in the Ohio legislature (Speaker Jon Husted) in Hagan's devotion to the causes of the likes of American Electric Power (most of Stark County) and FirstEnergy (some of Stark County).

As devastating as a 45% increase may be to Stark County homeowners, one wonders how hard small business is going to be hit. At the small company level an ironic twist will nail Hagan were he to be elected commissioner. The higher energy cost will be a damper on Stark County economic development.

Question: Are you looking forward to your possible 45% increase in you electric bill over the next three years? What degree of responsibility does John Hagan bear for this increase?
