SCPR "ELECTION 2009 SERIES" (VOL 12): HAVE GUARDADO & HALKIAS MADE A SERIOUS POLITICAL MISTAKE IN THE PLAIN SCHOOL BOARD RACE?

CORRECTION:

John Halkias wrote the SCPR to make two points:

1 - He two no record of being invited to the NAVE forum.

2 - To correct the SCPR report that there are three candidates running for two positions.  The CORRECTION is that there are "three" positions open in this race.

Last night Plain board members Kristen Guardado and John Halkias were "no shows" at the Neighborhood Associate’s Votes Empower (NAVE) forum for Canton area candidates and issue presentations.

Guardado and Halkias are candidates for re-election to the Plain Local School Board.  There are two positions for the three candidates.

Challenger Christopher Cugini was there.

And he got the most favorable response from the 150 or so citizens who assembled to hear the candidates.

The 18 year old chided his opponents for not being at the forum.  Cugini graduated from GlenOak less than a year ago and seeing Plain Local School District problems "up close and personal," he has decided to take action.

He's is running to put either Guardado or John Halkias on the sidelines.

The NAVE forum was lackluster except for the Cugini pitch for his candidacy.

The SCPR will be featuring other excerpts from the forum between now and November 3rd.

Maybe Guardado and Halkias made a poltically fatal mistake in not showing up.

Here is a video of the star quality presentation of Cugini.
