DISCUSSION: IS STARK REPUBLICAN CHAIR JEFF MATTHEWS ON VACATION?

Has Stark County Republican Party chair Jeff Matthews "given up the ghost?"

The Democrats are lining up to run for Canton City Council-at-Large! Nine candidates (so far) going after three seats.

But no Republicans?

How in the world are Cantonians ever going to get any balance in their city government?

Has Chairman Jeff Matthews "thrown in the towel already?"

For a political party that has its back up against the wall in heavily Democratic Canton, the STARK COUNTY POLITICAL REPORT (The Report) thinks the GOP ought be out and at least as aggressive as the Dems in circulating petitions. Gee, one Democrat has already filed.

November sounds like a long way off, but is it when you are a minority party that has to convince Democrats and independents to vote its way?

Will there be any Republicans at all running at large?

Who do they have to run for Canton City Council? I am told that the Stark GOP is coming after the larger townships to rebuild their county wide candidate bench. The GOP can care less about Canton Council.

Cynthia Vignos and Vince Frustaci would be a good change for Canton.

Rumor has it that Vince Frustaci is the grandson of long time and former Republican Stark County Clerk of Court HELEN GAROFALO and Cythia Vignos is the decendant of Jane.
