DISCUSSION: SERIES: WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE LICENSE PLATE FEE INCREASE? COUNTY ENGINEER REHFUS ANSWERS - PART I - STARK CO'S SNOW REMOVAL PLAN

On Monday of this week (for those reading this blog after this week - it's the week of January 5, 2009), the STARK COUNTY POLITICAL REPORT (The Report), with camera in hand, went to 5165 Southway to visit with Stark County Engineer Mike Rehfus.

The topic?

What is happening with the money being generated with the license plate fee increase requested by Rehfus and approved in a 2 to 1 vote by Stark County Commissioners Bosley (Democrat) and Vignos (Republican) over the objection of Commissioner Gayle Jackson (Democrat).

Why is former Commissioner Jackson's son Shane (Political Director for the Stark County Democratic Party) pictured? Because he generated at least one e-mail to Commissioner Bosley warning him of the dire political consequences of voting for the increase.

The Report is setting up this series up as a victory for those county officials and Stark County citizens who have a vision for Stark as opposed to those who are dug in and only see Stark County's future a "batten down the hatches" operation personified by former Commissioner Jackson most of her predecessors.

Part I is on the Stark County snow removal operation.

Why?

Because this is the season for snow, snow and more snow.

So view the video below as Engineer Rehfus gives chapter and verse as to what Stark Countians can expect in terms of have county highways cleared of snow.
